What would happen to Trump if he got impeached?

If he was impeached in the House there's no way they could get the supermajority needed in the Republican-controlled Senate to remove him from office. So it would be just another ineffective 'political circus' like the Clinton impeachment.

There IS a chance that the Republicans will also get tired of his shenanigans some time in the next 2 years, and then impeachment is a real possibility.

But I think Trump's biggest worry is not getting re-elected. Since he got elected, a lot of evidence has turned up of criminal activity. Dems and Repubs seem to agree (wrongly, if you ask me) that a sitting president can't be indicted. But once he's out of office, Trump is fair game. If he doesn't win a second term, there's still time within the statute of limitations to go after him.

The same thing that happened to Clinton when he got impeached. He would be elected to a second term, of course.

If he actually was convicted and chased out of the WH, he'd probably go on trial for his criminal obstruction. But Mike Pence would likely pardon him, so no jail time.

Nothing. The senate won't vote on it.
