As a really young kid I enjoyed the Curious George books. I was fascinated by "Where the Wild Things Are" by Maurice Sendak. Something about that book really enthralled me as a kid; as an adult, I don't understand why- but children really love that book.

The first books I remember loving are the Redwall books by Brian Jacques (I wrote my first fanfiction with those books as an elementary school kid). I also loved Harry Potter, the "Alice" books by Phyllis Reynolds Naylor, and the Series of Unfortunate Events.
