About the same amount. Robotic space probes are very economical compared to manned missions, which is one of the reasons they are so greatly superior, and why most of the solar system has been explored robotically while humans just arrse about in earth orbit.
The probe crashed onto the moon, but being robotic there was noone hurt, and Israel can just try again if they feel so inclined. Not sure what they are trying to achieve, after all the moon is a bit ho-hum these days, but anyway.
I notice the XPRIZE crowd lowered their expectations. Originally they were going to bestow $20 million on a successful moonshot, there were no takers so they extended the timeline and lowered the gift to 1 million. In the end they tossed the mill to the Isreali group anyway even though their effort crashed and burned. Amazing.
