No I wouldn't. I would wonder what they're trying to hide.

    No.

For the same reason I would not give someone my credit card number, or the banking account numbers, including my Swiss account information...

You are just an invisible user in the dark, vast void...

I am not interested in writing to all and sundry...I have a life here...

    Makes sense?

No? Have a better reason you could provide...????

Yes. A last name is very personal.

I don't even need to know a first name. It is only talk.

I wouldn't write to anyone period. People have already wasted too much of my life.

Yes. It's understandable at first. If you Google my first + last name, there are four links on the first page that show my Facebook and where I work. If my name were very common, like "John Smith," it wouldn't be that way.

I would and I have in the past. Giving out your last name is personal and you should always protect it till you really get to know the other person.

Just make one up. Gunderspiltz and Peeglass are my favorites

I wouldn't blame them, unless we were talking on a dating/marriage site. But even then better safe than sorry.
