So, do tell us, how did you come to know about the Jesus you believe in?
Did you just hear all that word of mouth from others? Did you stop to ask them where they got their information from? And if they said it was in a book called The Bible (which they would), how would you know what bits in it were 100% accurate, and which bits were tampered with, or downright lies?
It's clear you know very little about The Bible, which you disparage, because you go on to state urban myths that are not in the Bible at all. Yet you seem to think they are! The Bible nowhere mentions evolution, or science, or states the age of the Earth, or the age of the Universe. Nobody's salvation depends on their views about those subjects.
As for translations that have 'tampered with' The Bible, does that mean you are prepared to learn ancient Hebrew, Aramaic and koine Greek in order to read the manuscripts we have of the Bible, in those languages it was originally written in? You could do that, you know. Lots of Christian scholars have done that and they are the ones who have given us translations into modern-day languages. If it was not for their diligent work, you would not know a thing about Jesus, Heaven, or hell. You really need to sort your thinking out. Or do you disparage the Bible in order to concoct for yourself a pick-and-mix religion? Try the link if you want to seriously face up to the reliability of modern translations of The Bible.
