Uhhh yea, speak for yourself, I catsit for one of my neighbors who has 4 cats, and I only see them every so often but they've learned to be comfortable around me and even the two more timid cats will come out to say hi to me. They probably don't even associate me with food because they get free fed and they're usually in the other room on the cat tree when I refill their food and water and clean out their litter. The friendliest cat will even come to me while I sit on the couch looking for cuddles and then it's just nonstop purring.
Cats are very lovely creatures, they just have a different body language than dogs do, and that can be very off-putting to 'dog people' who only recognize traditional methods of dog affection. Cats and dogs are very different, like being pet different ways and with different firmness, and they like playing in different ways. It's not fair to judge a cat or any animal by a dog's standards.
