What you need to do is go back to court and ask for either 1) shared custody, so that both of you have equal financial responsibility for your child(ren), or 2) ask for sole custody of the child(ren), so the ex doesn't have any say in the way they're raised. It's more likely that you could get shared custody. The children are the ones who need to be protected. There are some fathers who take the position you do and think they not longer have any responsibility for their children once they're not living in the home. That is why there is a law stating that both parents have to share in financially raising children, or else totally give up custody and any control. If you're not willing to pay for health insurance, food, or clothes for your innocent children, then you should be prosecuted for that. You helped to make the children, so you help raise them.
