Why can’t scientists tell us what happened in the universe before quarks were formed?

We know that space was filled with just energy and that quarks and anti quarks condensed from that energy
Before there was energy, space was empty but in a false vacuum higher energy level. This was the inflation period.
Before that, we don't know much because the laws of quantum gravity are required. We have not discovered that theory yet.

There is a theory now that explains if enough vacuum is present in space that two dimensions will collide causing friction that would cause the big bang. As a universe expands the matter separates so far that light from galaxies can be seen from other galaxies and then the galaxies die from lack of hydrogen to create stars and then everything gets sucked up be black holes which then evaporate.

But scientists can in fact tell us what happened in the universe before quarks were formed. The quark epoch began 10^-12 seconds after the beginning of expansion. The history of the universe can be traced back to 5 x 10^-44 seconds after the beginning of expansion.
