What is the process of draining someone’s Urine with a catheter to stop a bad drug reaction called? It happen to me in the ER.?

    I've never heard of anything like that.

    They may place a Foley catheter if a person is unable to void urine on their own, when giving a large volume of IV fluid, or if they were retaining urine as a side effect of anesthesia.

    But just draining the urine doesn't do anything different than if you just went pee on your own.

    I think what the user is asking involves a catheter and quickly drains the urine from someone’s bladder also removing the drugs in the system. Can’t find any information on this online under purging.
