Some reputable companies end up hiring lazy dishonest workers.
I ordered a new furnace and a/c unit with a new a/c foundation. You guessed it, the workers tried to install the new a/c unit over the old cracked plastic a/c foundation...until I caught them and suggested they call their boss to clarify their error.
Another time I ordered and paid for all the materials to build a large deck. I got home as the crew was cleaning up and saw them loading all of the unused supplies that I paid for onto their truck. They KNEW I ordered and paid for those supplies because they gave me the material list. Which, by the way was hugly over ordered to the tune that I had to pay my lumber yard $175. for restocking fees. Yeah, that goes to show you how much they had me over order. And, in my opinion, to rip me off of those supplies. If I did not happen to come home unexpectedly, they would have gotten away with a truck load of supplies that I paid for.
Again, some workers are lazy and others are dishonest and steal supplies to either use them moonlighting or to sell them for cash. It is horrible, but it happens.
From then on, I will NEVER have ANY contractor in my home without me being present 100% of the time.
And, yes, these were highly recommended and reputable companies. Some employees are just lazy and dishonest.
