I'm not so sure about that. He hasn't won any major gold medals in some time. His last medal was a bronze in 2018 at the World Championships in Budapest. Zaurbek Sidakov and Avtandil Kentchadze beat him out in his weight class, taking gold and silver. His last gold was two years ago in Paris.
He didn't even medal at the 2016 Olympics, coming in 9th.
In fact, presently, United World Wrestling Men's Freestyle Rankings place Jordan Borroughs as 7th best in the world, naming Hassan Yazdani Charati as best in the world in the 74kg weight class.
I'd say of all wrestler's, right now, Logan Stieber is the overall best. I know he couldn't beat Borroughs because he's so much lighter, but as far as style and athleticism, he's my favorite to watch, and he is presently ranked first in the 61kg weight class.
I dunno, I just like watching small, wiry wrestlers the most because the action is the fastest and they show the most endurance. The bigger the guy, the harder his heart has to work to oxygenate all those huge muscles, making it almost an entirely different sport as you get short bursts of action and then all of this lumbering around while they each catch their breath. The smaller the guys, the more their matches are all go, go, go.
