If owners want to pay favorites with big contracts SHOULD other players want demand a trade?

It's INSULTING.

I mean if your QB gets $140 million and there is a team out there that HASN'T paid their QB that much yet and is willing to pay you. Why not demand a trade?

The owner made the decision early on that you weren't worth it. So BYE.

It used to be that players made very little money. Then one got a big contract and the dominoes began to fall. ANY player getting a huge salary is a good thing for his fellow players. It opens the door a little more.

And when a crappy player like Midget Wilson gets a huge contract the real stars of the league are overjoyed because they know even greater riches will soon be theirs.

I think that players SHOULD get a piece of the pie. It shouldn't just line the owners pockets. However, it should be spread equally. Pay one, pay them all. Don't skimp. Or don't pay one player the most in the league and look at the other teammates and say "sorry out of money"

Would you prefer that owners give big contracts to self-involved ghetto trash -- like Antonio Brown, Odious Butthead, or the Bell boy who used to play for Pittsburgh -- than the leader of the offense?

The buck stops with the QB so it stands to reason that he gets more than the other trained animals on the team.

Other players could demand a trade but their demands would carry no weight.

When you become a free agent, you can leave if you want. If you are under contract, then you agreed to your salary already.

The best thing a team can have is a top QB on a cheap contract. The 2nd best thing is a top QB on an expensive one. Seattle is still in better shape than a lot of teams.

And most of them (Watson, Mahomes, Wentz, Goff, Trubisky, Prescott etc) will have big contracts soon. So where should all of these players demand to get traded? Everyone should demand to go to Miami?

Should players ask for trades since teams sign their QB to big contracts? Not sure I follow. And Russell Wilson isn’t really the QB for this argument, he deserved his contract. Guys like Garapollo, Carr, Stafford, etc got similar contracts to Wilson and are far less deserving.

Yes. If you know youre never going to get paid what you deserve, on that team. If youre playing your butt off and are the best at your position. But the owners dont have the money to pay you what you could get elsewhere because they chose to pay the QB. Why not leave?
