Can I put my heavy stereo on top of the cable box. It will cover all the vents on the cable box?

    devices have hot DSPs almost universally,digital signal processors,,they get hothothot,

    and need ventilation

    underneath,& through the top side grills

    too much heat your devices get suddenly dead

    You don't want to cover vents: this is how heat is diverted away from components, which might otherwise overheat and melt down.
