It's sorta funny how the thing about blurring the fact-fiction line is not well absorbed by people. There's thought provoking art and then there is entertainment. This show is the latter.
Hitler did not have designs on the U.S. There has been no empire in world history able to conquer the entire world. This was even true in the old world.
Even that is irrelevant because Germany simply wanted to restore what they had. They did not stir conflict with other countries just to stir the pot. The Versailles Treaty had Germany to blame for ALL of WW I. Doesn't that strike you as just a little off? Ever heard this saying:
There are three sides to every story: His side, Her side, and the truth.
And so it is with war. They are generally not one-sided. Wars are conflicts about stuff. They are about money. Sometimes they are about power, religion, and ethnicity.
Even Woodrow Wilson warned the UK and (especially) France about unduly punishing Germany. Wilson's 14 points plan however, was rejected.
There is no need to make excuses for what Germany did. Throwing it's own citizens in labor camps was reprehensible. That was only a part, but much of the rest was simply a continuation of W W I. World War One was rooted in nationalism, rising militarism, imperialism, and mutual alliances. ALL sides shared in the blame.
World War II was not about world conquest in any way, shape, or form.
