Do old watercolor paints contain lead?

i found a paint box full of watercolor blocks. the box itself is from 1936, but i don’t know when the paints themselves were made. They are Windsor and Newton, and seem pretty old, although they mostly work fine. One of them i noticed when i scraped off the top of the paint it had metal in it, like a good chunck of metal solidified in the paint. Could this be some sort of crystallized lead or something??
