How is the biomedical engineering undergrad at Ohio State? Is it a decent major for pre-med that will also leave me with a backup?

Biomedical engineering could be an excellent major for a premed. However, don't forget you have to complete all prerequisites for premed, in addition to requirements for your major.

To find university rankings - overall & by field of study - google-search university rankings. Be sure to compare 2, preferably 3, different rating organizations as their criteria & weightings vary a bit. Do the same to check out premed & med school rankings.

Ohio State is a reputable state university. A major there would certainly be "decent". As for a backup, there aren't a whole lot of jobs for anyone with a bachelor's degree in science, but you could certainly go to a master's program.
