Why has greed and corruption taken over so much of the US. Is it because people have turned away from God.?

You are right. We Christians should, and MUST, as a group, pray to God for forgiveness of "kicking Him out" of society, schools, etc.and praying for Him to return and save our country.

I was pondering the meaning of "Those who deny all things religious" based on a passage in Revelations on my evening walk.

When those who want to practice "freedom from religion" got the upper hand over those who practice "freedom of religion" things in the US turned sour.

Take a look at the space program a former atheistic country that the US (which at the time was shifting from freedom of religion to freedom from religion) beat to the moon.

But now that other country now practices "freedom of religion" while the US practices "freedom from religion" and at the present time the US can't even get an astronaut to the international space station with out getting a ride from the former enemy.

It is sad to me as a veteran to know that we as a nation have become the very enemy we fought.

Now it is not the whole nation, but as long as Christian support those who murder unborn babies and vindicate those who murder the innocent it will not improve.

It is just the greed and corruption- it is the licensing of every ungodly act imaginable.

God doesn't reward nations who worship him and punish nations who turn away from him. Greed has taken over the US because capitalism as an economic system makes it advantageous for individuals to behave in ways which are greedy. Luxury is currently something for the rich, so to obtain the luxuries of good education, healthy food, sports facilities, shelter with heating and plumbing etc. the only way to do it is to increase your own personal wealth. However in a system where luxuries are not private, but public, suddenly the only way to obtain better luxuries is not to hoard personal wealth, but to give increasing amounts into a public pot of money that can be spent on good public schools, community sports facilities, quality social housing, and nice healthy food.

There fundamentally isn't enough stuff in the world for everyone to have their own set of tennis courts and a private jet. So when luxury is private, it can only be enjoyed by a select group of people who obtain their wealth at the expense of others. However if luxury was public, there would be enough resources for everyone to enjoy tennis and speedy public transport, because no one needs ten tennis courts each. But because luxury is private, we are incentivized to compete for resources, rather than cooperate for them. If you have ever played some collective action games that involve game theory, you will very often find that working for your own personal gain is unsustainable and you will just end up hurting yourself in the long term. That is what is happening now under capitalism, because no one trusts that the public pot of money can really benefit anyone anymore. Whether they are right or not, lets hope this changes, and that people become trusting and kind enough to let go of their greed.

i see some saying Christianity is the reason (or not the reason) behind this BUT it is a part of human nature. Greed, corruption, war, murder, etc. would exist as much as it does today with or without Christianity.

no. I say that is because i personally witnessed many groups who struggle financially to make ends met because they give everything to others. Are there some groups who do? yes. And those are generally pretty easy to see. Just as anything, you cant hold stereotypes to be true.

The christianity we see in the USA today is the epitome of greed and corruption. The USA has a very serious National security problem, and it is christianity. And all of our security agencies acknowledge that and spend huge resources to quell it. We need to 'turn away from god' to survive as a nation, and as a species, the alternative is to perish. Having children, I have a stake in that.

It appears to have taken over because of TV and other media. The vast majority of families live in love and happiness, but that is not exciting enough to sell ad space on TV.

Turn off your electronics and look around you to see reality.

Greed and corruption have been around forever, dear, they are not somehow mitigated by religion. They also exist everywhere, not merely the US.

    Take it from a historian.
