We shouldn't punish people for their opinions, even if the are profoundly misguided. Being a fool is within the letter of the law.

People which obey the Constitution and behave according to the first amendment.

Ourselves. Punishment would instead make them even more convinced that they're right. It's much better to meet them up with a real argument.

Do you not think your censorship will ever be used against you? An increasingly common argument I hear from both conservatives AND centrists is "Censorship of speech and ideas is indeed wrong, but what's even worse is the freedom of speech to censor freedom of speech. Therefore anyone who claims others must be criminalized or persecuted for their free speech shall be criminalized."

Despite their advocacy for expression of ideas, they see the only solution to the increasing (and very REAL) threat of their free speech is to censor speech which calls for censorship.

We don't punish people for having racist opinions. We need people to get an education, not by force, but by making it affordable.
