depends on how bad the hospital is. some will be comfortable, others won't meet your basic needs. the room may be too cold in the winter and too hot in the summer....
i would bring my own sanitary pads for after as every hospital i ever heard of gives you the ones that are supposed to be hooked to a belt, but they don't give you a belt.
i would pack a box of tissues, chapstick, disposable cups, snacks, lotion. even a comfortable large enough bath towel as they tend to give you tiny towels.
and socks and underwear as well as some sweats I can wear home. its hard to tell what size you will need so something with a string you can loosen or tighten.
i have seen people only needing to lose 10 pounds to get back to pre baby weight ....a couple days after birth. and others that have not lost any weight 2 months later.
if the hospital can't trim nails, bring your baby toiletry kit with you and you can trim the nails.
