    a) What countries are you calling "socialist"? There are only six socialist countries -- China, North Korea, Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia and Cuba.

    b) Yes, most people in China, Cambodia and Vietnam are happy. I have not been to Laos in a long time and never been to Cuba or North Korea to make an honest estimate.

    c) Even poor people can be happy if they have enough to eat, money for clothing and a comfortable home to live in and a good family life.

because the people who live in the world's leading country bear the burden of maintaining order and economic growth at their own expense. People in the US spend most of their time working, and when compared to their EU compatriots they spend a lot more time working. The US spends more than any other nation on the planet defending freedom, and deploys more foreign bases than any other nation. They are happy socialist 'free riders' on the largess of the US.
