Kinda. Because I grew up in the 90s, I like dance pop, but it's not like it was back then. Back then dance pop was like a mixture of upbeat club music with pop lyrics. Now it's more like just party music. Compare (You Drive Me) Crazy and Stronger by Britney Spears, Get Down, Larger Than Life, and Everybody (Backstreet's Back) by Backstreet Boys, and Bringin Da Noise by NSYNC to today's dance pop. Today's dance pop lacks the club feeling to it. I still like dance pop music from artists such as Kesha, Taio Cruz, and LFMAO since their hits were when I was a teenager and actually makes you feel energized and want to dance, but I'm not too big on Lady Gaga, Rihanna, and some others since their music lacks something. If anything, Kesha and Taio Cruz come the closest to having that 90s dance pop style feeling in some of their songs.
Do I like typical pop music? No. Some of it is just pathetic, such as Taylor Swift, Bruno Mars, or Katy Perry. Not my preference.
Baby Boomers have their stuff, but so does my generation. Michael Jackson, Elvis Presley, and the Beatles are overrated.
