I actually shop at both stores, depending on what I am shopping for. I see Home Depot as more of a contractor's store, whereas, Lowe's products seem to be geared toward the homeowner.
I will not purchase any appliances at either Home Depot or Lowes because although they are brand names, those brands make less expensive and inferior models of their products, specifically for those stores. That is why they can guarantee the price because those model numbers cannot be bought elsewhere. This business practice insures that you, the customer, believes you are getting that appliance for less money than anywhere else, when in fact, it is sold no where else. So, that 110% price guarantee is nothing but bullshit smoke and mirrors. They sell for less because their quality is not better or even equal to other stores.
