Given an mRNA sequence of 5' AUGACUAUGCA 3'

give DNA strand from which it was transcribed

DNA has nucleotides with bases such as adenine, thymine, cytosine, and guanine. In a double stranded DNA, adenine compliments thymine and guanine compliments in cytosine. However, in RNA, there is no thymine. Instead RNA has Uracil. Like DNA, RNA also have guanine complimenting cytosine. But, adenine is complimented by uracil.

So:

5' AUGACUAUGCA 3' (RNA)

3' TA CTGAT ACGT 5' (DNA) (ignore the spaces... i did it to align the base pairs)
