I cann honestly say I am the poster person for giving up smoking.
I smoked for twenty years from the age of 14.
I was only 27 and felt like I was on the way out.
I had no energy, totally addicted, coughing all the time, constant chest infections
and looked haggard. I was 1.7 metres and about 8 stone.
I gave up gradually and took up running, started eating a good diet.
I feel 100 times better than I did in my 20s, Im fit, feel positive and although I don't
know if smoking will eventually come back to bite me, at the moment I don't worry daily about
its effects like I did when I smoked.
Then again although I enjoyed smoking for a time I regularly worried about my health and often thought of all the activities I could have excelled at if I didn't smoke.
I looked at runners and athletes and thought I could've done that if I didn't smoke.
