I've been told that in order to make glass you must take sand and launch it into the omega sun, is this true?

No. I guess that was supposed to be funny, wasn't it?

You need sand.
The rest of the question is a bad joke.

Mankind must have been doing that for at least 2,000 years - there are examples of Roman glass at least 2,000 years old. Which sun is the Omega Sun? I have seen no name tags on our sun.

Only works if you use Alpha sand.
Then the Alpha & Omega, the beginning and the end, make glass.
So God did it!

Don't be fooled by the naysayers here. You're right! Ancient peoples had stargates that they used to launch sand into the Omega sun and then used that to get the glass back home.
