While tending to agree with "Jenny Marx" and some others, would add this: if you are able to sit quietly for five minutes, in a quiet place, and let your thoughts and feelings revolve around rules, beliefs, and society--primarily your rules, beliefs, and society--and then add another five minutes and contemplate what you want, what you need, what you're concerned about: work, income, career; romantic relationship; parents and family; health; God; doing that will contribute to your under-standing of self and situation. As you begin and end each 10-minute session, visualize a bright golden-white light around you.
If that meditation and contemplation has been helpful, make an appointment with yourself to do it again the next day.
After each meditation/contemplation, go about your business if it's morning, go to rest if it's evening. At bedtime, employ some of your fervor to ask your higher self, God, to teach, heal, guide, and guard your soul as your body rests. Doing any and all of the above with peaceful love and kindness towards yourself is recommended.
After a few days or weeks or months, you should have clearer insight.
