The majority of people still believe that feminism is a century old movement that started out with grace and civility as it achieved its goals one after the other, and simply look on in dismay at those today calling themselves feminists and shaking their heads at their antics as if its a disgrace to that memory.
Those who actually look into the history of feminism will see from its inception it was anything but, started primarily by the suffragettes who were at constant odds with the suffragists (those who wanted equality for all and not just women). The suffragettes used -in no uncertain terms- terroristic actions to get what they wanted via fire bombings of private businesses and residences, physically assaulting their political opposition as well as the one or two random civilians, as well as engaging in mafia style tactics in regards to extorting protection money from those who would otherwise be the victims of fire bombings in order to fund their goals.
These terrorist style actions carried well into the 1990's by the by, a prime example of this is the militant feminist European group Rote Zora which several of whom fled to places like Australia to avoid being imprisoned for their crimes.
Not only were they violent but they were also legitimately classist and racist as well. The original demands were meant to only benefit white upper-class women, not those of other minorities or of a lower class than themselves. Much of the original rhetoric in terms of deriding men in almost all aspects of life were reserved for those of black men, only when they realized the optics on that were undeniably bad did they switch up the rhetoric towards ALL MEN and thus opening up avenues of more recruits to get the numbers they needed to achieve their goals.
From then on the Suffragettes co-opted the achievements of the suffragists as their own, a pattern of behavior that has carried on through out the years as feminism has sought to dominate other 'social justice advocacy' groups and incorporate it as an extension of feminism. An example was the UK's branch of black lives matter where the predominately white activists were arrested for their actions during their 'protests' where as the black women in charge of that branch used the entirety of the funding from said protests to fly herself to an international feminist conference...
The sexual liberation of women saw the rise of out-of-wedlock children being born as well as the explosion of single mothers, also the rise in cheating in marriages by women as well as women bearing children of other men while telling the current husband all the while that he was the father (but he really isn't).
The achievement of no fault divorce saw the rise of divorce rates which the majority of which are initiated by women, and at the same time they fought to MAINTAIN men having to pay alimony as well as protested AGAINST men being available to receive alimony (the most recent example was the bill a few years ago floated in Florida's state proposals and was quickly shot down by feminist activists threatening several of the state elected officials.)
Now we also see the rise of female-on-male domestic violence and surprise surprise...the feminist women are notorious for being THE MOST egregious and numerous of these offenders (predominately in emotional and psychological abuse, with physical abuse being only every so often). Just like the 85% infanticide being committed by women statistic, its taboo to speak about socially and culturally but its the primary reason most young men and adolescent boys REFUSE to do anything with feminist women romantically or sexually.
Do i think "feminist" is an ugly word? My question to you is, when has it not been an ugly word?
