LBJ was the purest politician who ever lived. he never forgot a name and what was most important to each senator or congressman's home state or region. he was famous for "The Treatment" in which he used his he used his domineering size to further his aggressive style of persuasion, flattery, threats and intimidation. with this unique power of persuasion he pressed through the 1964 Civil Rights Act and the 1965 Voting Rights Act.
after signing the bill he said "I THINK WE JUST DELIVERED THE SOUTH TO THE REPUBLICAN PARTY FOR A LONG TIME TO COME."
BLACKS ONLY MAKE UP 12% OF THE TOTAL POPULATION OF THE UNITED STATES. THERE ARE WAAAAAAY MORE WHITE RACISTS THAN THAT IN THIS COUNTRY SO IT'S OBVIOUS THAT HE WASN'T DOING IT FOR THE BLACK VOTING BLOCK.
