"so i read that birds are dinosaurs kind of "
That is most likely wrong. Birds most likely evolved from a small, arboreal reptile that glided. Dinosaurs are too big, and biophysicists tell anyone who will listen that evolving flight from the ground up is implausible. All known dinosaurs are ground dwellers. The smallest known dinosaurs, such as Compsognathus, do not have any of the birdlike characters found in Deinonychus, which is too big to climb trees.
"& the pterasaurs ( including pterodactles) were reptiles. i find that kinda odd cuz dinosaurs were always thought to be lizarrds cuz of theor scales and many walking on 4 legs, "
Dinosaurs are not lizards. They are archosaurs, which are more advanced than lizards Crocodiles and alligators are also archosaurs. Archosaurs have an additional hole in the skull, in front of the eyes, known as the antorbital fenestra. Birds also have the antorbital fenestra and their ancestor was also an archosaur, albeit not a dinosaur. The most likely ancestor of birds is Longisquama insignis, the only known reptile that has feathers, instead of dinofuzz. Dinofuzz is most likely collagne, not feathers. Dinosaurs, crocodiles, and pterosaurs, as well as the ancestor of birds, are all reptiles. The ancestor of mammals is also a reptile, a therapsid reptile.
"and i always thoughrs were descendants of pterodacles because they fly. Now its reversed. The dinosaurs are the ones that are flying now. And the reptiles are walking on four legs. and to add to bonus, a bat is neither of them. its a mammal."
Flight has evolved many times among vertebrates. It has evolved independently in pterosaurs, bats, and birds. We do not yet know the ancestor of pterosaurs. Bats evolved from a shrew-like mammal after the dinosaurs and pterosaurs became extinct because a giant meteor the size of Mt. Everest slammed into the earth at high speed and wiped out practically all land animals that could not hide underground or in or near the water to escape the heat, estimated to be "oven-like" at ground level. The meteor impact generated the equivalent of a billion atomic bombs detonating all at once. It triggered one of the 5 worst mass extinctions in the history fo the earth. Most birds also became extinct. The reason birds survived was because there were some birds that evolved as shorebirds, spending most of their time living near the coast. The water kept turtles, crocodiles, and shorebirds cool enough that they did not become extinct. If there was no shorebird at the time the meteor struck, all birds would have become extinct just like the pterosaurs and dinosaurs.
