Two meetings, two failures. In the first meeting all Trump came away with was the same vague promises and statements that North Korean leaders have been making for years. In exchange he gave several concessions to Korea that previous Presidents had avoided making. This meeting, despite the spin that Trump and his followers will and are attempting to put on it, he achieved even less. Unfortunately, or rather fortunately, Trump lacks the authority to give Kim what he asked for at this meeting so he did not even get the vague promises from the first meeting.
Oh and US Presidents including Obama have been willing to meet with North Korea however they wanted more than vague statements with no will to actually carry them out which is what Trump received. In fact when Obama, prior to being elected, stated that he would consider meeting with North Korea without preconditions, the same thing Trump did, the Republicans imploded.
