Can dogs and cats sense what guns are used for?

Say you’re with a dog or cat, and they see or notice your holding a gun or weapon in your hands.—-Do they know or can they tell what a gun is?? Or would they not have any clue what’s in your hand??

I doubt it, because animals would need much, MUCH more time to understand anything man made. Glass windows, for example.

I saw a video of a deer knocking a gun out of a hunter's hand and beating the crap out of him. Sure seemed like the deer understood.

they can be conditioned to fear a gun, behaviorally.

same way a dog can be conditioned to drool when a bell rings
