You are alpha member of the cat's pride. You are vulnerable to attack. It is the cats jib as the beta at gamma member of the pride to guard and protect you. Sometimes the best bonding time with a cat can be when you are sitting on the throne.

I don't own a cat but my Border Collie comes with me and sits with a paw on my leg. Not always convenient but she is being protective. Lies on the bathroom floor too while I shower.

To be witness if you fall in and drown. They can give a statement to the police then.

I had one that would RUN in there and hop into the litter box and pee when I peed. Cats just don't like shut doors. If you leave the door open most cats won't bother going in.
