Medically speaking, what could be the reason this girl is always hiccuping?

In my class I have a girl that, every once in a while she does this loud hiccup that startles the whole class full of 200 people. I thought it was just a one time thing but she does this every class!

Omg one of my friends has the same problem, she can't find anything that can stop her hiccups.

It could be stress or anxiety, which can cause a person to hyperventilate which can cause hiccups.

She might have a hiccup tic

I have no informative answer , except hic-ups are caused by the diaphragm . Why not net search the subject ?
