Why is Rudy Giuliani, who acted so sensibly during 9/11 attacks, acting so imprudently now and defending Trump's corrupt actions?

I think he's doing the best he can with what he has to work with.

After the 9/11 attacks, he had better PR people. Now that he's without them, he's acting his usual self.

It is a nice myth, but it isn't as if Rudy actually did anything following 9-11. He showed up on tv and basically said "buck up little soldiers."

Sensible? If it werent for him, the Command Center for the city would not have been put in the WTC.

"Giuliani's worst offense - his failure to provide basic, functioning equipment to the first responders who placed their lives on the line every day in New York City. This failure would prove deadly after the 9/11 attacks, when firefighters were unable to hear radio calls to evacuate the soon-to-collapse towers."

as a long time resident of NYC, I can tell you Giuliani did NOT act sensibly around 9/11. The city's emergency services had told him to put the emergency center outside Manhattan after the 1992 attack on the WTC, but he wanted it within walking distance of City Hall, and thus it was in the WTC, destroyed and not of any use. There's a lot more. The man wanted to suspend election, which wasn't even done in the Civil War

That is just your biased assumption, so it is not actually true.
