How long does it take to be informed of the outcome of an interview?

My partner had an interview on Wednesday (2 days ago) and felt it went well. They said that he would hear by the end of the week but it is now Friday night and still no word. The company is only open Monday to Friday so doubt they will be in touch over the weekend. Do you think this sounds like he’s been unsuccessful?

Not necessarily - it often takes longer than they estimate.

The post interview process takes as long as it has to take and it rarely follows the rules of job seeker i'd keep you informed every step of the way. Knowing when an interview didn't go well is just as important as feeling good when you know it went great. These indicators allow you to stop waiting anxiously, you can continue your search without dwelling on weather that single interview will determine the next step in your career.

From 1 day to never. If she isn't getting the job, they may never call her back. Or, they may fill this position and call her in a month or two about another position...

Doesn't matter how good that interview goes, you keep applying everywhere until you get a job offer you'd like to accept...that's how this all works.

There is no rule. Fridays are busy getting stuff up to date before the weekend. Contacting interviewees would not be a priority so not hearing means nothing.

If he does not hear by the end of today, he probably did not get it and should keep applying to other posts.

    1 day to 6 months.
