Evangelical Christians do you read the Bible according to your pastor or according to your heart?
many pastor preach the Bible according to their thoughts by telling that words are from God, according to the protestant reform, the Bible should be read according to your heart or understanding from the Holy Spirit then why do you need a pastor? in the catholic church they believe that they need to check the interpretation of the early fathers of the church like saint Augustine but protestant churches reject that but Luther said everybody has the freedom to interpret the Bible no?

The question is really asking where can we access the source of truth!
Catholics claim it lies in the hidden and undocumented traditions else apostolic succession, despite the fact that such traditions have change, evolved, flip flopped or morphed over centuries and the church not teaching as the apostles did.
So what does the bible say?
Does it say ... "and the church will lead you into all truth"? NOPE
Does it say..." the church is a single identifiable ORGANISATION"? NOPE
Does it say.. "the church is the only way to reconcile tradition with scripture to understand it's truth" ? NOPE
So what does the bible say?
"For the word of God is alive and active."
If it's living and active does it need the church to interpret/apply? NOPE
"But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth. "
If the Holy Spirit leads to truth, do we need men, rules, traditions or church to lead us into truth? NOPE
What about the term "church", does it mean one physical identifiable entity?
ONLY if God screwed up. You see, the ONLY example of CHURCH that God saw fit to include in HIs "LIVING AND ACTIVE" word sees various churches in Ephesus, Philippi, Corinth, etc struggling with different issues, believing different things and having no formal organisational structure between them! More than that Christ gives us a picture of the seven churches in the end times... so if we are to believe the Catholic claim that it is the ONE church then we have ignore scripture else reconcile how the various churches were one (by the use of delusion or application of cognitive dissonance)... and yet Catholics, desperate to make their arrogant boast about being the one true church, grasp passages like Jo 17:21 "I pray that they will all be one, just as you and I are one" to argue Christ said His church would be one. The bible doesn't say this. It records Christ's prayer that they would be one not His promise they would be..... how did Christ's request for the cup to pass Him go? More than that if being one means being one physical entity then the early church spectacularly failed and God recorded it as an example of what church was like!
So here's the solution..............Jesus Christ.
The bible tells us that the Holy Spirit will LEAD us into truth...
...that's not the Holy Spirit will present us with truth
...that's not the Holy Spirit will force us to see truth
...that's not the Holy Spirit will not let us deviate from truth
... it's that we will be LEAD into truth.
The thing is about leading is that we have to go voluntarily, we have to want it. Thus, if you don't want truth the Holy Spirit is not going to lead you to truth.... and there are many who claim to want truth, to have found truth but who are fooling themselves else trying to fool us. This is why the bible says "For false messiahs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect." Only those who sincerely desire truth will be lead by the Holy Spirit....
..there will be every kind of fake truth.
..and the ONLY way to know fake from real is via a sincere heart being lead by the Holy Spirit.
THIS IS WHAT GOD's LIVING AND ACTIVE WORD TELLS US - not men, not church, not rules.... GOD.
Does this mean there is a simple easy way to identify truth?
How do we know this for sure?
Not least because Christ told us, "I am a the way, the TRUTH and the light.." and NOBODY can find Christ without the Holy Spirit ..Jn. 3:27 : "A man can receive nothing unless it has been given to him from heaven.' and 1 Cor. 2:14 , "But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. If truth has a simple easy to follow rule book (akin the Catholic teaching) then why is that THE TRUTH, Jesus Christ, isn't found without the Holy Spirit and why doesn't everyone find it?
The very fact that Protestants differ in doctrine shows these biblical principles and examples still working and in evidence. The fact that the Catholic Church itself, likes to claim unity in doctrine through history demonstrates but actually shows major doctrinal agreements through every period also demonstrates this reality.
..whether you agree or not depends not on my argument but on whether you are prepared to be lead by the Holy Spirit or not.

All human religions have mistranslated some of the ancient Biblical text that makes up the first five Books of The Bible. How did that happen? Mankind's lack of scientific knowledge to properly interpret the advanced scientific knowledge contained in this ancient Biblical text led to the unscientific religious interpretations we still think they mean today. So how could mankind mistranslate our own knowledge contained in this ancient Biblical text? Easy it never was mankind's scientific knowledge to begin with for mankind to later mistranslate. So then whose scientific mind did this advanced scientific knowledge contained in this ancient Biblical text originate from? It originated from the advanced scientific mind of the God being quoted speaking these words to a human named Moses. What a great concept by our God to use modern science to eventually prove His existence and renew His Words for all future generations to come starting with this generation.Source(s): The God Yahweh our Intelligent Designer and the missing link in the chain of evolution.

So many people undermine the whole point of the Protestant Reformation by inserting themselves as middlemen of scriptural interpretation. It frankly insults the intelligence of anyone schooled to read a book printed in their native language.

I rather feel it does not matter how one reads a book of nonsense.
