Multi-million dollar contracts and the money to buy their way out help.

I can't speak first hand for the average man's punishment, but it seems NFL players get punished fairly hard even without a conviction. They lose million dollar contracts/jobs and/or get suspected with accusations and no trial. As with anyone with money, losing a job does not affect them as much as someone working paycheck to paycheck.

  • They really don't, but having financial access to high-end legal representation helps.
