What animation software was used for anime in the 80s and 90s?
I'm sure the 80s was without software but I'm trying to get that look
Modern tech makes it too clean looking
But I know for certain the 90s used software
Which was it?

Most of the 80s and 90s was still done with hand-drawn cels. When it was done with computers, it was a technique called "digital ink and paint." The images were still hand-drawn, but were scanned into a computer, painted, placed on top of each other in layers, and rendered frame by frame.
There were/are several different programs that were used to do this. Studi Ghibli uses something called "Toonz."

animation software was not widely available as it is now.
believe it or not, most animated films and cartoons were hand drawn!
on the rare occasion that CGI was employed, the animators usually had a custom software that they wrote to accomplish this.
