Because cricket was a British sport, there was a patriotic instinct to boycott it. That's why cricket is not famous in USA.

In USA Baseball is far more popular from beginning and cricket also seems a bit similar to baseball so it didn't interest the American audience. Same goes with Soccer and American Football, Tradition Wrestling with MMA

Because baseball was far more popular. Cricket was widely played at American universities in the northeast in the latter half of the 19th century, and brothers George and Harry Wright, both members of the 1869 Cincinnati Redlegs, the first professional baseball team, were cricketers first and highly regarded ones at that. Baseball just caught on as an American sport and cricket never did.

curtisports2........ you probably never heard of the 5-day test cricket which is considered the prime form of the game.
I never heard of a baseball game lasting more than a few hours.

This is because the USA people love to watch the short length of games like baseball, basketball and football.

That is the way with sport in the USA, not Rugby but American Football, not Netball but Basketball, not Hockey but Ice Hockey, not Rounders but Baseball, etc.
