Will McConnell and Senate Republicans check Trump's un-Constitutional appointment of Whitaker to head the DOJ?
Or, will they continue to let him do whatever he wants to do?
The Attorney General reports directly to the President which makes the AG a principal officer of the federal government. And as such, the Constitution requires Senate confirmation for anyone chosen to fill that position ... Whitaker isn't Senate approved.

I do wish the McConnell (R-KY) led Senate Republicans would show some patriotism and backbone in providing a system of checks and balances for the bad acts of Donald Trump and the Trump inner circle. How many years have we had the GOP ranting about "family values" and "the threat from Russia" or "national security" (they held repeated "hearings" to smear Secretary Hillary Clinton for using a private server during her four-year tenure as our top diplomat, even though using a private server was LEGAL at State), only to now have these hypocrites ignore ACTS OF WAR against the United States by Russia?? RUSSIAN MAFIA has been embedded in our country for at least two years! A bipartisan Congress voted unanimously to impose economic sanctions through the 2014 MAGNITSKY ACT after whistleblower Sergei Magnitsky, a young forensics economist tracking high level corruption among Putin's inner circle that had been brought to the U.S. through a New York Russian-owned holding company named PREVEZON, which was about to be taken to court in a $249 MILLION tax theft, tax fraud, and massive money-laundering of stolen Russian treasury dollars through "high end real estate deals" (which is where Donald Trump and the Trump Foundation comes in and his partnership with Felix Sater of BAYROCK GROUP real estate development agency situated in Trump Tower). Note: Felix Sater is the Russian-born son of the Russian MAFIA crime boss and Trump's business partner from 2001 "The Making of Donald Trump" by David Cay Johnston (2016). McConnell has refused to bring a bill to protect the crucial Mueller investigation to a vote on the Senate floor. Why? Isn't the Oath of Office for these GOP Senators "to protect this nation from ALL ENEMIES, both domestic and foreign"? So how come they're in dereliction of duty while Trump is in the White House?
Maybe this "blue wave" sweep for the House of Representatives will scare the Senate Republicans and move them ever so slightly towards the center where they start doing their jobs of checks and balances on an out of control White House occupant.

McConnell should be trying to move the goal posts back to where they were before so it takes 67 cotes ti convict the president, not 51, BEFORE the new Congress is sworn in. Of course that probably will NOT happen.

What's unconstitutional about it?
- SusieLv 612 months ago
PLEASE explain WHY it’s unconstitutional. If you can’t then you shouldn’t be trying to make statements on here.

At least, there will be an opposition.
Trump has been protected beyond all reason up till now.
I just hope the Democrats remember not to be… erm… small cats.
Whether they actually manage to get Whitaker in won't make much of a difference at this point. You don't just destroy all the documents of a federal investigation.

They will do nothing to stop Trump from even becoming a dictator.
