I recently tried to take one of my laptops apart, and I thought it was difficult.
Prying a laptop open may result in damage. I pried open my laptop from the bottom of my laptop, and top where the keyboard is located. I spent a while trying to completely open, and take apart my laptop.
I damaged my laptop because I tried to pry it open. I did not damage the bottom of my laptop. I damaged the top part where the keyboard is located on my laptop.
My laptop still works, but now I have to use an external keyboard with it.
I think it's your choice to make regarding you removing your laptop screen. If you remove it by force, and your laptop breaks, then you would have learned something new.
