What are the names of these semi-automatic pistols?

    At left is the 7-round M1911A1, chambered in .45 ACP (11.43×23mm), and, at right is the 15 or 17-round M9, chambered in 9×19mm Parabellum. This photo was taken on 15 January 1985 to show the old and new service pistols of the US Armed Forces.

    The one on the left looks like a 1911 or one of it's cousins and the one on the left is a Barreta.

    Right: Beretta M9
