Father, Son and Holy Spirit all created everything – Gen 1:2 Isa 44:25 John 1:1-3
Yet Yahweh declares that He created everything by Himself – no-one was with Him – Isaiah38:13
But Jesus said that His hand and His Father’s hand are one and the same Hand – John 10:28-30 cf Is. 49:16.
The Father resurrected Jesus – Acts 2:24 2 Cor 4:14
Jesus raised Jesus – John 2:19-21, 10:18
The Holy Spirit raised Jesus – Rom 1:4, 8:11
Yahweh denies there was any god either before Him or after Him – He recognizes no other god – Isa 54:5, 21
Yet Jesus is ascribed deity in the Bible – John 1:1 and Yahweh tells all angels to worship Christ – Heb 1:6
So either Jesus is a false god or a usurper god or God – the same God – the Only God.
And Jesus ascribes deity to the Holy Spirit by saying Jesus can be spoken against and that person forgiven but no blasphemy against the Holy Spirit will be forgiven – Matthew 12:31.
All who turn to God to be saved, bowing to Him, is turned into turning to Jesus to be saved, bowing to Jesus – Isa 45:22-24 cf Acts 2 and chapter 4 and Joel chapter 2. See Philip 2:10-11, Rom. 14:11
But nobody can get to that point of being saved without the initial work of the Holy Spirit in them, as Jesus said, Jn 16:7-15
Only God is the Saviour but then Jesus is also called the Saviour – Isa 45:21 cf Lk 2:11
Rev ch. 5 speaks of all heaven worshipping Him who sits on the throne AND the Lamb at the center of that same throne in Heaven. And the seven-fold Spirit is surrounding that throne.
Doubting Thomas declared of the risen Christ, “My Lord and my God!”, Jesus accepting that worship Jn 20:28.
Stephen prayed to Jesus, whom He had seen in vision alongside the Father. Why did he not pray to the Father? Because Jesus had told the Christians to ask HIM for anything, in His name, and He would grant it – Jn 14:13-14. Stephen committed his spirit to Jesus as he died – Acts 7:54-60.
Really, I could go on and on, listing very many more scriptures but first I would like you to get back to me saying you have compared all the verses I have given so far, and responding – otherwise there is no point in me taking a couple of hours to give an exhaustive list. But to deal with the point of why the full deity of Christ does not appear to be stated unambiguously, with only John’s gospel pointing to it, let me say this:
The full deity of Christ is NOT omitted in Matthew, Mark and Luke. It is just that those who are blind to who Jesus really is cannot see it. Only a revelation by the Holy Spirit enables anybody to grasp just who Jesus really is. That is why, in Matthew 16, Jesus rejoiced at God revealing to Peter just who He really was.
“Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah, for this was not revealed to you by man, but by my Father in heaven.” Verse 17.
Then Jesus went on to say that He would build His Church, and the gates of Hades would not overcome it. That Church is based upon this foundational, rock-like confession of faith, that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the living God. And to call Jesus that, is to ascribe full deity to Him. Not that unbelievers can see that. Well, how could they? They do not believe. They are in a catch 22 situation yet keep demanding that Christians prove the full deity of Christ to them. How absurd!
When you seek the Father in prayer, earnestly desiring to discover just who Jesus is, then the Holy Spirit might open your understanding and your spiritual eyes. Until that happens, you will never grasp this. Read Hebrews 4:12-13 to discover why such important truths are NOT explained in simple, unambiguous terms. Those who read the Bible to judge it will never understand. The Bible judges us when we read it, for it is the Word of God, and the same Holy Spirit that revealed to Simon Peter just who Jesus is, will reveal to sincere readers the same revelation of truth.
