Of course it's okay! If you're starving I assume that your in a forest or something with no people around. Then you're no longer 'more important' than other creatures. You're just a part of nature. You've got to hunt or be hunted. That's nature. That's life. There's nothing wrong about that, it's actually a good thing. If there were no predators, there would be to much herbivores and there wouldn't be enough food. Everything would just go extinct. We humans tend to just look at the small picture: if you kill an animal you are bad. But if you kill an animal, you're most likely to kill the weakest one, because it's the easiest to kill. If all the weak ones die, only the strong ones will be able to reproduce. It makes the species stronger. So what's bad for an individual does not nessisarily have to be bad for the species. So there's nothing wrong with killing, but you shouldn't kill just because you can, only if you have to. Only than things will be in ballance.
