Only at close range. Arrows have more mass, but less velocity, which means against anything but the smallest caliber bullets, they impart less energy on impact. Also, an arrow's accuracy degrades faster than a bullet as the distance to target increases. Never bring a bow to a gunfight. Just ask the American Indians.

No, it's not even close. The walking dead makes crossbows seem a lot cooler than they are, in reality Daryl always opting to carry a crossbow would get him killed. But then again nothing about the walking dead is reality anyways.

Maybe as effective as magnum handgun, such a .357 or a .44. These sorts of weapons are strictly short range (75 yards or less)

Only if you fit it with a bump stock.

Ancient people would build catapults which could hurl great stones amazing distances. The Romans used these devices like cannons tearing down the walls

of fortresses a mile or more away. Some of these machines were like crossbows

    and hurled great arrows.

They all are deadly weapons, and they cause over a million injuries each year. There is no prevention for injuries either. A small child may think it’s a toy, and go and play with it, and they will get hurt badly.

Source(s): Incidents like these are ALWAYS covered up. That’s why we never hear about the injuries.

Gary, your slip is showing. Your source contradicts your statement.

For 1 shot at maybe 100 yards or less, yes. After that, you have problems. As for the musket mentioned above, it would actually be faster to reload the crossbow for a second shot, but the musket will (probably) have a better range.

    depends what gun:

Its as effective as a musket maybe, but a mini gun is much more powerful
