I have a 2nd generation 1st model Colt Dragoon revolver and was wondering how much a letter from Colt would add to the gun?

LMAO!. That would be nice if were true. Costs $75 to letter that particular type of revolver, IF the OP actually has a true C/F serial number revolver. It would add about $100 to the price of the gun.

If you had such a collectable piece getting it appraised would be better than asking strangers on y/a about it. It's a 19th Century firearm in unknown condition with no information.

2nd Gen BP "Colt" revolvers were made from early-mid 1970s to 1982.

A letter saying what? If the revolver is verified and you can prove that it's a 2nd generation 1st model Cold Dragoon, then any letter would be irrelevant. If you CAN'T verify the revolver as authentic, then a letter of authentication from Cold would be helpful.
