What is the biggest coincidence in your life?

I read an article about Nancy H. in the New York Times in 1990 and fell "in love" with her from contemplating the write-up about her and then I actually met her when I was walking 34th Street late in the evening -- 12 years after I originally read the newspaper article. I had a brief love-affair with her in 2003.

This is nothing huge, but it sure is a small world.

I was in Florida meeting my sister to celebrate our father's surprise 60th birthday party. She picked me up at the airport and we stopped Charlie's Crab to grab a cocktail and a bite to eat. We were busy chit-chatting when the waiter took our drink order. Soon enough, my favorite drink was placed before me and I was dumbfounded because I really didn't remember ordering it or any specific drink for that matter. When I had this drink in front of me, I gazed up at the waiter to see him grinning from ear to ear. Here, before me was the bartender of a restaurant in my home town, 1800 miles away.

Apparently when my sister and I were talking, he asked for her order and said to me "your regular" and I nodded yes without skipping a beat. I suppose at that very moment, I did not realize I was actually in Florida and not back home, up north!!! Too funny.

the way sonneone put a note on nny door with a nunnber for citizens disability, ive never heard of thenn but have been trying to get on it for yrs, nnore like alnnost 7 and could never get it, i called thenn up and was working with thenn for nnonths, they did in nnonths what noone else has done in yrs and i got accepted for it, it was a neighbor that taped the note to nny door, she knew id been applying and saw it on tv, what are the odds that would happen and then nne getting it cause sonneone saw it on tv and taped a note on the door, i think sonneone upstairs had sonnething to do with that

When in college I moved into a new apartment, didn't really know the guys I was rooming with. The day I moved in two of the roommates were from the same hometown as me, we didn't meet till college.

Haha I like this question and can answer very profoundly... Having been unable to obtain tickets to my team's game in London I still went... a week later to see two teams I can't really relate to - although now I can.

The manager at my store is an avid Cowboys fan and I of course root for my local team.

He gives me quite the flak if the Hawks lose... jokingly of course.

Well, in this SAME NFL week, my team lost to the Chargers (one of the teams of that game in London) and HIS team lost to the Titans Monday (the other team featured in that game).

I know a computer generates the matchups for the NFL... taking into consideration grudge matches regarding traded/signed players against their prior team... prior post-season matchups... but man this one was almost too eerie a coincidence.

Oh, and me and the Chargers QB were born 48 hours apart, his number is 17, and today is the 17th day since I was in London.

I'm no mathematician but man this is weird.

In 1970, 16 years after I graduated from HS in Ohio, a gentleman and his wife came to my front door to look over the house I was renting in California in order to consider it as a place they would rent after I moved into the new house I just bought.

He introduced himself at the door, "Hello, we're Mr. and Mrs. XXX I believe the landlord told you we were coming to look at the house."

I said, "Yes he did. Interesting but I used to date a girl named Mary XXX back in Ohio."

He looked rather surprised and answered, "That's my sister."

It was all true. By the rarest of all possible coincidences the brother of the girl I once dated in Ohio 16 years ago ended up on my doorstep in California to look over my house for renting. I met Mary XXX several years later at a HS reunion and she confirmed it all. It was her brother and he actually moved into the house after my wife and I moved into our first home that we (and the bank) owned.
