I bought a leftover Black Friday air fryer at Walmart for $39.00 last year. I cooked frozen french fries in it and was hooked. Later, I saw a Gormia 1500 at a special price on Amazon, and bought it. It has a built in rotisserie and I have cooked boned turkey breast in it, along with a bunch of kebobs. I mostly use it for roasting almonds, as it has a rotisserie basket and toasts raw almonds in 10 minutes at 450°.
Duplicating deep fried foods takes some effort, as you have to bread them, then spray with oil (I use a Mr. Mister) then air fry them. But the result can give you crispy fried foods with much less fat. So:
If you're trying to duplicate fried foods with fewer calories and don't mind the extra effort, they are great. Buy a top of the line item with numerous accessories. If you're only cooking french fries, it's not worth the effort unless you have unlimited counter space.
