What makes you like anime?

so i know why i love anime I've watched the mainstream anime with 100's of episodes and I've watched the not so mainstream anime with 12 to 24 episodes most recently date a live sankarea and my bride is a mermaid but i'm just curious to know what makes anyone who will answer this what do you like...

Story quality, depth, and variety that you simply do not see from almost any other source.

Yes, there is some trash, but I watch what I consider the good stuff, currently Overlord, Gate, and Steins Gate 0 for starters.

the main thing for me is the continuous story line. Most cartoons and real life shows have a episode, and then the next one would be totally different. That caused discontinuity.

As a martial artist and Japanophile, anime is addicting for me because of the many themes which anime has. DB, DBZ, DBGT (damn you Yamcha), and DBS are self explanatory examples, due to my background in the martial arts, although I suppose Naruto also counts in a way, the Geneva Conventions is against child soldiers, so Konohagakure would be in some legal trouble (only anime fans would understand). Bottom line, theme, theme, and also characters and animation. DBZ forever!
