Carpet stains...can a wet/dry vacuum cleaner be used by wetting the carpet with soapy water then vacuum the solution out?

Soapy water can really suds up. Getting the soap out could be a nightmare, Use a carpet cleaner you can pick up at Wal Mart. But year you could use a wet vac

you need a cleaner with it soapy water will clog up you can see them on shelves in the detergent section of the supermarket vanish and stuff

yes, so long as you don't leave the water on too long or it will soak through to the backing/underlay and will take forever to dry
